Pottery – Term 3

Waaaay back in May I finished a third term of pottery at Brighton Rec near Melbourne. The last piece was straight out of the kiln and in to a packing box ready to be shipped back to England, which is where I am right now. I managed to fire off a few quick pictures though.

Firstly I made another 4 doily bowls to make a set of six.

Then a doily platter…

…and then a little doily plate.

Then I thought long and hard about something I could make that would remind me of my time in Australia, Melbourne in particular. Beach boxes! These were great fun to make – using slab techniques. The roofs lift off so they could be used for storage, of something. Not many pictures unfortunately due to the general hecticness of moving hemispheres, more to follow when they’re finally unpacked (hopefully all in one piece).

Cheers, Wend! I can’t wait to see them again either… they’re packed away in a box somewhere, hope they’ll see the light of day some time soon. We must get a date in for a catch up, let’s discuss.
