Lino Cutting Adventures
So inspired was I by the prettiness of New Zealand, that I set about making a Lino print (loosely) based on pictures of said awesomeness. Of course, I’d not really made a decent lino print since school, so I did a bit of experimenting first in the form of a sunflower and a bit of random doodling. That did not end in disaster so onward we went with the NZ plan. It’s harder than you’d think making a black and white picture… but I got there in the end. I treated myself to a block of soft ezy-carve rather than persevering with the old-school lino that’s so tough to carve – SO much better. Anyhoo – here’s the results. Why do the printing blocks covered in fresh ink always look better than the actual prints? Pah.
