Great Ocean Road & Robe
One last jaunt along the Great Ocean Road last weekend to catch up with some lovely buddies in Robe SA.
Treated to fabulous weather (well, a very photogenic rain/sunshine/cloud combo – always dramatic along the coast).
Escaped the the city on Thursday night and made it as far as Angelsea and a spa cabin at the Angelsea Big4 campsite – quite the fanciest cabin we’ve ever stayed in – better than many hotels in fact.
Onwards on Friday morning for the beautiful drive to Robe. Stopped at Wreck Beach to take a peek at the anchors remaining from various shipwrecks on this treacherous stretch of coast. Just made it before the tide came in. Bit of unexpected exercise with 300+ steps to negotiate!
Stayed in a lovely house in Robe. Arrived to crispy duck pancakes hand made by chef Higham and her beautiful assistant Mr Hilhorst – oh and maybe a red drink or three – party! The eaty/drinky theme continued throughout the weekend plus a smattering of beach walking and Eurovision.
Awesome weekend (despite some sniffles) thanks Highorsts! xx
…and later at sunset
